Emergency Response Operations Manager (EROM) – Scotland

Location: UK Flexible, office and home based

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 35 per week, this may include out of hours work

Salary: £32,170 per annum

We have an exciting opportunity for an Emergency Response Operations Manager.

The Emergency Response Operations Manager (EROM) will lead the delivery and recovery of operational emergency and crisis response activity across the country. A standard bearer for quality and excellence in operations required to enable local activity, lead national crisis responses, coordinate assets from across the BRC, and evolve our offer to current and future needs to ensure effective support to those in crisis.

Critical to success will be the utilisation of data driven insight to inform, develop, and improve operational offers and delivery both at local and country level. Collaborating with BRC area team, volunteers, and external partners to ensure our offer is understood, relevant, utilised and effective.

In addition to the development, implementation and management of the area operating plans and budgets, the EROM will manage and develop a service delivery team of staff and volunteers.

This role could be for you if you….

  • Are able to set and monitor performance measures to report against outcomes
  • Write and execute operational plans
  • Can understand and interpret complex data and insight
  • Have excellent knowledge and experience of MS packages
  • The ability to communicate confidently with a range of diverse stakeholders through a variety of mechanisms
  • Are able to prepare and present reports, written communications and presentations.
  • Have knowledge of government, statutory and voluntary sectors in which the BRC works
  • Have knowledge and understanding of the roles, functions and purpose of statutory and non-statutory agencies in the emergency response sector

You will have…….

  • Experience of working in disasters and emergencies
  • Management experience that includes robust experience of operational management of staff
  • A strong track record in developing and ensuring the implementation of strategic and operational emergency plans
  • Practical management experience of operational teams including effective deployment of resources
  • Experience of identifying service needs, and exploiting and developing service opportunities
  • Experience of working and leading volunteers
  • Full UK driving License and access to a vehicle
