Natün is proud to have a diverse funding model, where grant funding allows for design and institutional strengthening, complemented by a significant proportion of individual and group donors with potential to increase income, placing us in a positive position to meet the needs of the community in the long-term.

The Major Gifts Coordinator / Specialist will support our Fundraising department, in managing existing high-level donors, and proactively reaching out and finding new major gifts prospects. • Build and nurture strong ongoing relationships with major funders, including individuals, foundations, corporate partners and community groups, and Natün’s Sustainers Circle, our group of most involved donors
  • Identify potential funding opportunities aligned with Natün’s work, generating ideas on increasing revenue and donor retention
  • Proactively reach out to new high-giving funding sources and partnerships, securing financial support from new sources of funding
  • Strategize to tap into the potential of increasing income-generation from the corporate sector, and donors in Guatemala
  • Collect data from across the Fundraising department, to analyze donor and giving trends which shape fundraising strategies

  • Fluent in English and intermediate-advanced Spanish
  • Experience working in non-profit organizations
  • Experience working with donors and fundraising, with proven success in finding funding
  • Skills in managing Google Drive, spreadsheets and databases
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to adapt writing style to different audiences
  • Great verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Independent, self-starting work ethic
  • Organized, highly detail-oriented and able to work to deadlines
  • Kind, collaborative attitude
  • Excited to learn more about Indigenous-led work and passionate about local Indigenous leadership
  • Interest in the multicultural context of rural Indigenous communities in Sololá / Guatemala

The successful applicant could work from Guatemala (location flexible) or at our offices in Panajachel, Sololá, but we are also open to other possibilities of location and modality.

We offer

  • A competitive local salary, depending on experience
  • Flexible schedule and fit of role
  • Personal and professional development
  • A kind, collaborative, forward-thinking team in a beautiful location in the Guatemalan Highlands
