Title: Programme Manager – NTDs, Eye Health & Inclusion

Location: Cote d’Ivoire, with travel to project regions

Contract: 2 year fixed term contract

About the role

The Programme Manager will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the Cote d’Ivoire NTDs, Eye Health, and Inclusion programmes by providing operational and technical leadership to projects and manage key partnerships.

The Programme Manager key duties and accountabilities include:

  1. Providing operational and project management to ensure successful implementation of programs by coordination of NTDs, Eye Health and Inclusion interventions across the Country working with diverse stakeholders in Cote d’Ivoire.
  2. Providing technical leadership and expertise in implementation of NTDs, Eye Health and Inclusion programs. This includes adapting current guidelines and best practice to Cote d’Ivoire context. Facilitating the capacity strengthening of country, partner and global teams in implementation of programs.
  3. Undertaking monitoring, evaluation and follow up of the programs to ensure that projects are on track to meet deliverables and work with Senior Program Manager/Country Director and Chief Global Technical Lead to address challenges.
  4. Work with Global Fundraising team to ensure on reporting progress of the project to donor and participate in donor funding events as necessary.
  5. Manage in-country external partnerships related to the programme and broader refractive error programmes in Burkina Faso.

As the successful candidate you will have excellent leadership and networking skills, the ability to plan strategically from organisational perspective, be able to build strong working relationships across different departments and work collaboratively as a member of cross-functional teams, and initiate, innovate and translate ideas into effective action plans.

Jobholder Requirements

Essential:

  • Extensive working experience in the education/health and development sector
  • Experience with project management within a complex project delivery in low resource setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of current issues and best practice in health, education, and development.
  • Extensive experience in health or education programmes in low-resource settings
  • Experience in developing and adapting programme guidance tools and other resource materials.
  • Experience in collating, synthesising and disseminating best practice guidance, research and programme learning.
  • Able to travel for up to 12-16 weeks a year
