George Mason University Korea ( MK) and the University of Utah Asia Campus ( UAC) are seeking to retain the services of “an external service provider as freelancer” to serve exclusively as a Mental Health and Wellness Counselor to their respective student populations. The Mental Health and Wellness service provider will be responsible for all scheduling of Services with MK or UAC students. Students may be referred to Service Provider by the faculty and staff of MK or UAC . Currently enrolled and attending students of MK or UAC may also independently seek services from Service Provider. MK & UAC students are generally entitled to twelve (12) no-cost sessions of mental health counselling per year. In order to distribute services equitably among students, Service Provider shall conduct counseling services (not to exceed 12 counselling sessions equivalent to 12 hours per MK student in 1 year). Counselling sessions may be conducted in person or via zoom at the student’s request.
If Mental Health and Wellness Service Provider determines that additional mental health counselling would be beneficial for a particular student, Service Provider will refer the student to other service providers in the Incheon community who may be able to assist the particular student. Service Provider will provide additional services above the 12 sessions if an alternative provider is not immediately available and termination of services would result in harm to student.
Service provider may be called upon to identify or provide mental health support services for MK and UAC staff and faculty in emergency situations, as well as respond to student emergencies outside of normal university operating hours.
Service Fee:
- 42,000,000 KRW for services provided to MK
- 42,000,000 KRW for services provided to UAC
Service Fee Dates:
- Service Provider will be paid from January 01, 2023 through December 31, 2023 a period equaling 12 months of service. 2) Yearly Fee: 42,000,000 KRW (to be paid in 12 equal installments) and Service provider shall provide a monthly invoice respectively to MK and UAC Human resources departments on payroll months to MK for agreed upon services.
- Service Period:
- Service Provider will provide mental counseling services to MK and UAC students during the Winter 2023, Spring 2023, Summer 2023, and Fall 2023 terms at MK and UAC.
- Service Hours and Location:
- Service provider is expected to provide services listed above on site primarily. UAC and MK will provide service provider with office location on the IGC campus. Daily hours of operations to be determined upon hire.
- Service Provider will regularly communicate with MK Associate Dean of University Life and UAC Assistant Dean of Student Affairs regarding the demand for counselling services so that both may evaluate whether additional services are necessary to meet the needs of students.
- Service provider will, upon request and availability, attend staff meetings for MK University Life staff and UAC student affairs staff.
- Service provider will work with UAC student affairs staff and MK UL staff to develop presentations and trainings for students, staff and faculty of both universities.
- Service provider will provide the MK Associate Dean of University Life and UAC Assistant Dean of Student Affairs will regular reports on student usage of services, and general data on primary mental health concerns raised by respective student populations.
Qualifications:
- Ability to conduct counseling sessions, training presentations in English and Korean
- Must be fully licensed to serve as mental health counselor in Korea
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working in US higher education systems
