Your Challenge
Philips Personal Health (PH) is currently looking to appoint a General Manager (District Leader) for Korea. The successful person will be tasked with proven leadership and people skills to drive profitable growth. He/she will have overall responsibility of the Korean Personal Health organization, managing the sales function and partnering up with other functions at APAC level to maximize sales, volumes and revenues, whilst ensuring the right organization, structure and processes are in place for delivering the business objectives.
Full accountability on driving team engagement and development across the Korean PH organization, whilst responsible for the P&L management and maximizing customer satisfaction, driving profitable growth & meeting or exceeding growth and financial targets.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop clear and achievable strategies, objectives and tactical plans for the district based on Key account management, customer centricity, segmentation, customer needs and market conditions synchronized with the BMC objectives.
- Responsible for sales growth by developing and utilizing Omni-channels, driving Direct to Consumer Digital Activation and optimizing the commercial triangle of Sales, Marketing and Trade Marketing
- Responsible for the overall Value Creation/Extraction model in the district through maximization of the commercial triangle (Sales, Marketing, Trade Shopper Marketing)
- Brings plans to Market Management Team to ensure integration with/support of functional and Handshakes with the Market Leader.
- Developing and driving credibility and long-term relationship with the customers in the assigned area, to fulfill long-term sales objectives.
- Execution and management of the yearly business plan of the district.
- Meet or exceed sales, volumes and financial targets, including profitability.
- Responsible for the monthly district business review meetings: sales, volumes, sales, forecast, price realization, Cost of Organization (CoO), escalations and supply chain
- Develop and maintain excellent communication links and relationship with top customers and the key decision makers in the district.
- Provide regular feedback about market development and competitive situation, with solid mitigation planning and suggested key enablers required for success.
- Ensure follow up with customers with overdue accounts
- Escalation management
- Ensure un-compromised implementation of the standard Philips business processes, quality standards and standards of business conduct according to Philips policies
- Drives continuous improvements applying LEAN and Daily Business Management
- People management, including selection, development, goal setting and performance management. Ensures overall high level of talent and engagement levels. Leading, directing and motivating the team in order to achieve the predefined sales & profit targets.

Your Team
Reporting to the Business Marketing & Sales Leader APAC, you will be working as part of a highly experienced APAC management team with a shared goal of creating opportunities to grow the Korean business. The successful person will also have the ability to leverage the skills and experience of their peers elsewhere within the business, to assist in driving this role to success.
We are looking for someone with the following skills, knowledge and experience
- Degree level qualification or equivalent
- Strong sales knowledge and experience within the consumer industry.
- P&L management incl. revenue and margin management
- Competencies in managing a commercial business. Able to build and manage sales focused organization
- Strong record of accomplishment in the leadership and development of a high performing team. Development of new business models (i.e. services, subscriptions) and digital, online & offline channel mix
- Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to build networks internally and externally.
- Ability to instill and drive a high level of engagement and collaborative way of working that is fitting with the Philips culture.
