The Opportunity

The Distribution Manager will provide overall management and support to the emergency response team at the initial phase of NFI distributions responding to earthquake disaster. The position will contribute to the development of the emergency response strategy and programme plan; initiate and lead on assessments; ensure the quality of execution projects activities carried out and related project reporting; establish strong networking with relevant forums and agencies; lead on capacity building of national staff; lead on raising funding for distribution works.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

Essential:

  • A suitable qualification in supply chain, logistics, engineering or another relevant subject
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in the relief sector with a recognized international organization. Ideally some of this experience will have been in an emergency situation
  • Experience in assessments, programme design, project management and evaluation
  • Experience of community mobilisation and distribution
  • Experience in winterisation programming
  • Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports
  • Experience of preparing successful funding proposals for donors
  • Demonstrated monitoring and evaluation skills
  • Experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach national staff
  • Computer literate
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Turkish
  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles
  • Ability and willingness to travel to the project sites

Desirable

  • Language skills in Arabic
  • Experience or knowledge of working and living in relevant regions/contexts

Position holder will be based in Hatay, therefore legal right to work in Türkiye is necessary at the time of application. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis.
