Distribution Coordinator x3 – Gaziantep

The Opportunity

The Distribution Coodinator will provide day-to-day management and support to the emergency relief distribution within the response team while responding to earthquake disasters. The position will contribute to the implementation of emergency response through agreed programme plan; initiate and lead on assessments through team members; ensure the quality of distribution of program activities carried out. Given this role is a clear field oriented one, the applicants must pre-accept the value focus at field operations.

Essential:

• A suitable qualification in, logistics, social studies or another relevant subject
• At least 2 years’ experience working in the relief sector with a recognized international organization. Ideally some of this experience will have been in an emergency situation
• Experience in assessments, program implementation and evaluation
• Experience of community mobilisation and distribution
• Experience in winterisation programming
• Experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach national staff
• Computer literate
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Turkish
• Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles
• Ability and willingness to travel to the project sites

Desirable

• Language skills in Arabic
• Experience or knowledge of working and living in relevant regions/contexts

Position holder will be based in Gaziantep, therefore legal right to work in Turkey is necessary at the time of application.
