Job Purpose
The Community Activator primarily involves the planning, execution, and coordination of community events and activities that revolve around environmental sustainability, creativity, and other topics essential to community development.
The role will work closely and report to our programs manager and will be at the forefront of sparking community engagement. They will act as a representative of Ahla Fawda within the community, advocating for the organization’s mission and values on the ground and in various events.
Lastly, the role will oversee the efficient operation of the food distribution program, which provides support to beneficiaries, ensuring their needs are met effectively and feedback is collected and implemented.
Major Accountabilities
- Event Planning and Execution: Develop a comprehensive calendar of events that aligns with the EcoHub’s sustainability and community engagement goals.Promote and plan for fun, inclusive and engaging activities that mobilize community members and volunteers with a focus on sustainability.
- Community Mobilization and Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships within the community, volunteers, and partners. Manage and maintain volunteers, donors, partners, and suppliers databases.
- Networking and representation: Serve as an ambassador of Ahla Fawda within the community, embodying our values and mission at promotional events and activities.
- Food Distribution Program Management: Take charge of the food distribution program, guaranteeing its smooth and efficient operation to support our beneficiaries.
Requirements
Availability
- 3 days a week (+attending events)
Experience
- Demonstrated experience (3 years at least) in community engagement, event planning, or a related role.
- Prior experience in project coordination and collaboration (in NGOs and community-based organizations is a plus.)
- Experience in resource mobilization, grant writing, or fundraising (is a plus).
Skills
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and negotiation ability
- Well-organized with multitasking skills
- Able to handle stress and remain calm
- Literacy in Google Suite, MS Office
- Strong reporting skills
- Understanding of community development principles and practices.
- Understanding of environmental sustainability issues and humanitarian help.
- Understand fundamental principles of safeguarding, child protection, gender equality, cultural awareness, first aid, mental well-being, inclusion and working with vulnerable communities.
