Role Description and Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of the Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting Plans.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual narrative, qualitative, and quantitative reports to update the Country Office on project progress.
  • Conduct project monitoring, verification, and evaluation, including baseline, mid-term project review, needs assessment, post-distribution monitoring, and final evaluation.
  • Implement the Complaint and Feedback Mechanism to strengthen accountability towards beneficiaries and crisis-affected people.
  • Develop and/or finalize the project Work Plan and keep it updated in accordance with project activities and time frames as relevant.
  • Manage the Performance Monitoring Framework (PMF) including Indicator Tracking Tables.
  • Identify lessons learned and develop case studies to capture qualitative outputs of the project.
  • Conduct key informant interviews (KIIs) with stakeholders, which may include project staff, beneficiaries, and community members.
  • Take comprehensive notes during interviews and transcribe and translate notes into English in accordance with the required format.
  • Translate tools and documents into local languages.
  • File and maintain all monitoring records, including both soft and hard copies of collected data.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by the manager for the successful completion of the projects.

Education, Knowledge, and Skills Required:

  • University degree in social sciences, statistics, development studies, or related areas.

  • Minimum of at least three (3) years of experience in designing and implementing monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and research work with INGOs/UN agencies.

  • Excellent communication skills and report writing skills.

  • Respect for diversity and adaptability to other cultures, environments, and living conditions.

  • Good communication skills, fluent in Dari, Pashto, and English (professional English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking needed).

  • Demonstrated experience in working in complex environments.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages (MS Word, Excel, Access, etc.) and experience in handling web-based applications.

    Other Information:

    Position Duration: The position is initially for 6 months, with the strong possibility of extension.
