Organization Overview:

We are a small yet high-impact international non-profit organization dedicated to providing sustainable work opportunities for survivors of trauma and trafficking. With an annual operating budget of <$1M, we are committed to expanding our reach and deepening our impact. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Fundraising and Donor Relations Coordinator to join our team and support our strategic leadership in building a robust funding base of mid-level and major donors across the United States and potentially internationally.

Position Overview:

The Fundraising and Donor Relations Coordinator will play a crucial role in executing our fundraising strategy, focusing on research, donor cultivation and engagement. This position requires a proactive and organized individual who can work closely with our remote leadership team to identify, cultivate and steward relationships with mid-level and major funders.

Key Responsibilities:

Donor Research and Identification:

  1. Conduct comprehensive research to identify potential mid-level and major donors domestically and internationally.
  2. Analyze donor giving patterns and philanthropic interests to inform targeted engagement strategies.

Donor Cultivation and Stewardship:

  1. Implement individualized donor cultivation plans to engage and retain our donor base, including mid-level and major donors.
  2. Coordinate and manage donor communications, including personalized correspondence, newsletters and impact reports.
  3. Plan and execute donor events, both virtual and in-person, to foster donor relationships and showcase the impact of their contributions.

Fundraising Strategy Execution:

  1. Support the strategic leadership team in developing and executing fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
  2. Assist in creating compelling fundraising materials, including proposals, presentations and case statements.
  3. Track and report on fundraising progress, donor interactions, and campaign outcomes using our donor management system. 

Collaboration and Coordination:

  1. Work closely with the communications staff to align fundraising efforts with overall organizational messaging.
  2. Collaborate with program staff to gather stories and data that highlight the impact of our work, enhancing donor engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a similar role within the non-profit sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully cultivating and stewarding mid-level and major donors.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize information and develop actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and presentations for in-person and electronic engagement with donors.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using donor management software and CRM systems.
  • Flexibility to travel 6-8 times annually.
  • Passion for our mission and commitment to ethical fundraising practices.
