Title: Senior Program Manager
Reports to: Executive Director
Time Commitment: Full-time, exempt position, including evenings and some weekends, hybrid flexibility
Position Summary:
This position works closely with our Executive Director and staff to develop and co-develop curriculum for young leaders. This individual is responsible for managing and tracking program components and impact, including social and environmental justice curriculum, anti-oppression work, and service learning. This position is a critical link between our participants, other program staff and the rest of the organization. They directly engage with youth participants, families, colleagues, and interns. They work within our small team to evaluate and improve processes, think strategically about long-term opportunities, and increase youth voice in our organization and community.
Duties & Responsibilities
Program Logistics & Operations
- Serve as an Immersion Leader (1-2 times annually) for the two-week cultural immersion trips to Guatemala during spring and/or summer.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with participants, families, colleagues, educators, board members, community partners, and other stakeholders
- Organize program related events: service days, pre-departure meetings, orientations, re-entry workshops, etc.
- Manage program logistics, such as space rentals, transportation (including immersion airfare), etc.
- Support data collection and tracking systems for US programs
- Evaluate programs and co-develop programmatic changes based on internal and external feedback
- Onboard, manage, and supervise all US program interns
- Lead in-class and information night presentations during recruitment season (Sept-Nov)
- Promote and support the annual US program application process, and work closely with team to meet enrollment goals for US programs
Curriculum Development & Facilitation
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment for participants from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, actively encourage their agency within GV and the broader community
- In partnership with Executive Director and program staff, co-develop and implement curriculum focused on environmental/social justice and restorative practices for US programs
- Lead Advanced Leadership Program team meetings
- Train youth leaders to facilitate social justice workshops
- Support student fundraising efforts, act as coach and support for those participants with socio-economic barriers in utilizing their network and strengths
Communication & Outreach
- Maintain regular communication and positive relationships with student cohorts and families
- Support Executive Director in grant writing, research, and community networking
- Establish, develop, and sustain community partnerships as related to programs
- Support community engagement through events, newsletters, social media engagement, etc.
- Co-develop and manage an annual strategic plan for social media
Qualifications:
The ideal applicant will have the following qualifications and/or skills:
- Culturally responsive and aware; commitment to racial justice and equity work
- Relationship building and interpersonal skills, especially with young people
- Experience with curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation
- Experience with youth centered practices and youth leadership development
- Experience with restorative practices
- Familiar with trauma-informed care practices
- Experience with facilitation and public speaking
- Familiar with Office 365, Salesforce, MailChimp, Remind, or equivalent technological platforms
- Knowledge of local and global issues
- International travel experience or experience living abroad
- Ability to adapt to fast-pace and changing environments
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and some weekends, as necessary
Preferred but not required:
- 3-5 years working with youth
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Background in community organizing or outreach
- Involvement in local community
- Experience with or interest in artistic creation (poetry, painting, murals, photography, etc.)
- Experience with post-secondary preparation (curriculum and/or programming)
- Experience with grant writing
- Proficient Spanish language skills
Salary & Benefits
Starting salary is 68-73K. Benefits include medical, dental, vision coverage, 3 weeks paid vacation, 19 paid holidays per year, which includes time off for winter break that overlaps with Seattle Public Schools, sick leave, and paternity leave. Hybrid flexible work environment.

We foster leadership skills grounded in environmental and social justice. We serve over 200 students from the US and 100 students from Guatemala annually. Through youth-led retreats, workshops, service projects, and a two-week immersion in Guatemala, our participants report a new capacity to be agents of change.
