POSITION SUMMARY
The Family Recruitment and Outreach Manager reports to the Sr. Director of Family and Community Outreach and is responsible for informing students, their families, and the community about Westbrook Academy (WA) programs, initiatives, and enrollment opportunities. The Recruitment and Outreach Manager is also responsible for engaging, recruiting, and enrolling students in Westbrook Academy and programs to become part of the LA Promise Fund team. Working from Westbrook Academy, the position requires travel throughout the region regularly to build community partnerships, attend community events, and meetings, and lead canvassing efforts. The Family Recruitment and Outreach Manager is a full-time, exempt position.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
The primary responsibilities of the Family Recruitment and Outreach Manager are to:
- Raise awareness of Westbrook Academy programs and initiatives
- Generate qualified inquiries for student enrollment
- Manage the conversion of enrollment inquiries into new student enrollments
- Manage Westbrook Academy’s enrollment platform; track and maintain accurate reporting records of new student enrollments weekly using the established platform
- Support Westbrook Academy Pantry Distribution efforts
- Create and update outreach materials and flyers as needed to support outreach efforts
- Foster and maintain connections with a 6th-12th grade feeder school pipeline for Westbrook Academy
- Become proficient in all aspects of the student enrollment process, school programs, and the organization’s mission and vision
- Engage in extensive, ground-level marketing activities, including lead generation through canvassing and networking
- Participate and lead family engagement efforts that support and increase participation (i.e. Promise Parent College, coffee with the principal, town hall meetings, etc.)
- Facilitate Westbrook Academy presentations to highlight and promote the school’s academic school culture
- Other duties as assigned
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or a minimum of 5 years of experience in family/community engagement initiatives with a proven record of project management
- Bilingual in Spanish Preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel and possess own reliable transportation
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, weekends as needed
- Ability to lift 25-40 pounds and stand/walk up to four hours at a time
- Must clear a LiveScan criminal background check
- Must clear a TB Risk Assessment
- Must complete Mandated Reporter training
- COVID-19 Vaccination (recommended)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of urban schools and communities
- Proficient use of computer systems (Microsoft Office, GSuite, Canva, Adobe, PowerSchool) or ability to learn platforms quickly
- Resourceful, creative, able to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
- A strong collaborator, good listener, and strategist; comfortable receiving input from many sources and able to analyze and formulate disparate information into a sound, well-organized plan
- Ability to engage successfully with a broad array of stakeholders in a school setting
- Mission-driven and able to gather others around them in a shared vision of success
- Entrepreneurial – a self-starter with a high energy level and an action-oriented individual
