Location: Remote within Latin America (ideally Colombia)
Women’s Equality Center, a project of the New Venture Fund, provides strategic communications and campaign support to the reproductive health, rights, and justice field at all levels, developing long-term, big-picture messaging frameworks around emerging issues and complementing and strengthening the work of organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean via grants, integrated policy, and communications campaigns, and rapid-response operations.
To complement our efforts, we’re seeking a Research Consultant who will be responsible for providing the political, economic, and social context of the several Latin American countries WEC has campaigns in with the aim of expanding reproductive rights. This is a great opportunity for someone who has demonstrated experience in research, and political analysis, and has the ability to translate insights into persuasive messaging for specific audiences and objectives.
Objectives of this Role:
- Provide and conduct analysis of campaigns, strategies, tactics, and concepts
- Review, analyze, and track research data to inform strategic decisions.
- Identify research opportunities that engage and persuade new audiences and decision-makers.
- Collaborate with team members to establish future-facing insights, implications, and recommendations that align with programmatic goals
- Improve and elevate research insights to reach specific audiences and decision-makers.
- Generate reports that compile relevant political, economic, and social contexts to help the team understand the national and digital landscapes of several Latin American countries.
- Map profiles of politically relevant targets to propose persuasion strategies.
- Translate research into communication messaging to influence audiences.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in research and digital campaigns aimed at pushing policy, political, or cultural progress.
- Expert knowledge of digital research and data analysis platforms such as Meltwater, Social Sprout, Datawrapper, ChatGPT, and similar.
- A deep understanding of Latin American and Caribbean politics, culture, news, and trends.
- A keen understanding of how to reach different audiences using persuasive messaging.
- Willingness to participate in regular group calls and meetings or as needed
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
