Job Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team as an Accountant and Administrative Assistant. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing administrative support to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Operation

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with accounting principles.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and budgets for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collect UOSSM USA partners’ financial documents invoices and salary payment documents, ensure that they respected and followed UOSSM USA procedures according to the partnership agreement.
  • Contributes towards the facilitation of the profession’s development in his or her area of responsibility.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with developing and implementing internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Perform periodic control audits and report findings.
  • Prepares any supporting documents asked for by internal or external auditors.

Grants Management

  • Assist with managing donor grants, including budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions.
  • Prepare grant applications and reports.

Other Duties

  • Work with program teams to track project budgets and expenditures.
  • Prepare presentations and reports on financial performance.
  • Assist with other financial tasks as needed.

Administrative

  • Provide administrative support to the team, including managing office supplies, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence.
  • Assist in organizing events, workshops, and conferences.
  • Manage and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical.
  • Handle travel arrangements and accommodation for staff.
  • Support in drafting and editing official documents, reports, and correspondence.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Liaise with external partners, vendors, and government authorities as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth coordination between finance and administrative functions.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working as an accountant, in a non-profit or international development organization.

  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho)

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken) required.

  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

  • Working Environment: primarily on site, and potentially remotely; based on needs and circumstances (i.e., Amman office, program centers, working group, etc.).

  • Working Hours: Working hours are from 8:00am to 5pm (may vary based on meetings and work conditions), Sunday to Thursday.

    Gross Salary: according to UOSSM USA salary scale
