Job Title: Adult Education Program Aide

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Adult Education Program Aide provides comprehensive support for the recruitment and intake of new clients for NMICs Adult Education programs. This position reports to the Adult Education Program Manager and works closely with the Adult Education team and other members of the Education and Career Services team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Outreach and Recruitment
- Attend Community fairs and events to represent NMIC’s Education and Career Services Department
- Lead information sessions for community members and partner organizations
- Update fliers and other outreach materials
- Return emails and phone calls to prospective candidates calling to get program information.
- Mail letters to candidates who are not reachable over the phone/email.
Intake
- Call clients with class and appointment reminders
- Schedule candidates for intake testing for ABE/HSE and ESOL programs
- Conduct intake interviews and assessments to support ESOL enrollment
- Facilitate TABE intake testing to support ABE/HSE enrollment
Administrative Duties
- Ensure both NMIC Internal and funder databases are accurate and up to date. This includes: creating and updating client profiles, entering attendance data, and entering case notes
- Reconcile data across NMIC and funder databases
- Assist in preparing routine records and reports for programs.
- Prepare bulk mailings to candidates or other organizations to advertise upcoming events.
- Assist in the preparation of materials for programs, classes, and other activities by sorting, copying, stapling, etc.
- Additional administrative duties and related responsibilities as assigned.
- Program design, enhancement and instructional opportunities available based on the candidate’s interests and experiences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two years of work in a community-based organization or a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related area.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail, highly organized.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
SALARY/BENEFITS:
NMIC offers a competitive salary based on experience and education as well as a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, life, and disability insurance; paid time off consisting of 20 vacation days, 15 sick days, 5 personal days, 11 agency holidays, plus the week off from Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day; a 401k with agency contribution; and other benefits.
