Stand for Children

The Role

Stand for Children seeks an expert in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging with experience in adult learning and educating techniques to develop and conduct interactive online training modules for our staff one to two times per month. This role will assist in Stand’s strategic efforts to take intentional actions in support of the organization’s ongoing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging efforts. This part-time temporary position requires up to 10 hours per month. Facilitated sessions are offered to employees during regular work hours 1-2 times monthly. This position is remote reporting to the Chief of People and Culture.

This facilitator will focus on one of the following topics:

  • Neurodiversity
  • History of Language in the African American Community

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate virtual educational training experiences on critical DEIB topics. We may also be open to proposals for additional DEIB topics.
  • Collaborate with Stand for Children leadership in curriculum development and delivery methods.
  • Communicate with Stand leadership and employees regarding questions, concerns, and course outcomes as the need arises.
  • Have and facilitate a meaningful and collaborative dialogue.
  • Stay updated on innovations and changes within the field of study.
  • Be responsive and available as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Passionate and aligned in Stand for Children’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Extensive lived experience preferred; master’s degree or PhD with 5+ years related teaching experience; or equivalent combination.
  • Expert with content.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to build rapport quickly.
  • Commitment to the goals of the DEI program; with the ability to work independently.
  • Highly responsive and organized.
  • Clear communicator.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Technologically savvy: can leverage technology to facilitate presentations like Zoom.
  • Understand curriculum design and learning outcome alignment with the ability to collaborate with curriculum development.
  • Knowledge of adult learner educational methods.
  • Availability to conduct 1-2 trainings/month; up to 10 hours per month.
