Educational Program Coordinator (full time)

At the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism, our mission is to train journalists and media professionals at all stages of their career. Our professional development and executive education programs summarized under J+ are among the most innovative in the field, and are a constantly growing and increasingly impactful part of our portfolio. 

To scale our existing programs, such as the Executive Program in News Innovation and Leadership and our cohort-based J+ programs for professional development; and to build exciting new programs in the field of media innovation, we are looking for an Educational Program Coordinator

Working closely with the Senior Program Manager, Senior Director of Leadership Programs and J+ Executive Director, the Educational Program Coordinator will co-design, manage and help grow our programs. You will be responsible for the daily operations of several cohort-based continuing education initiatives at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism.

This includes:

  • Scheduling, managing and coordinating classes, including preparing and onboarding speakers and faculty
  • Helping design and execute admissions processes, review applications and manage the onboarding of participants
  • Uploading videos, learning materials and readings onto Google Drive and Pathwright, our learning management system
  • Helping design and edit online class materials, participant manuals and marketing materials for external use
  • Serving as the first point of contact for partners, prospective and admitted participants and instructors 
  • Facilitating the communication to and among participants and doing outreach to new prospects via channels such as Slack, Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook or other social platforms
  • Designing and analyzing participant satisfaction surveys and managing communication with partners and funders
  • Overseeing the organization and execution of events related to the programs
  • Preparing purchase requests as well as facilitating and tracking tuition payments together with the Associate Director of Professional Development

Who you are:

The ideal candidate is a creative and self-motivated organizer with a distinct track record in program- and project management and experience in the media and/or higher education industry. They are passionate about sustainability, innovation and transformation in journalism and strive to deliver unique educational experiences.

You will have:

  • Attention to detail; a proven ability to triage and resolve problems on the fly and to juggle different projects in different timezones in parallel
  • A passion for teamwork, communication and collaboration with a diverse and international community of students and instructors
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent writing and communication skills and, ideally, a passion for digital marketing and social media
  • Master’s degree preferred but not required

  • This position is based in NYC, with partial remote work available
