Purpose of Proposal
The anticipated USAID Bangladesh Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (BMEL) Activity will serve as a MEL platform providing USAID/Bangladesh with high-quality, demand-driven MEL technical assistance and analytical services and support for collaboration, learning, and adaptation (CLA) delivered to USAID/Bangladesh staff, implementing partners, and country stakeholders that advance U.S. foreign policy goals and USAID’s strategic objectives in Bangladesh.
Position Summary
The GESI Development Specialist will oversee the development and integration of BMEL’s gender equity and social inclusion considerations into all activities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide support, mentoring, and expert advice to the BMEL team and Implementing Partners to ensure that GESI development matters are appropriately incorporated into activity design and implementation.
- Capture, track, monitor, and report on necessary activity data.
- Design and lead training to build gender capacity and awareness amongst stakeholders. Reports to COP.
Qualifications:
- University degree in international development, social sciences, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum seven years of demonstrated experience in GESI and inclusive development issues in Bangladesh.
- Specific experience working to assess GESI capabilities and opportunities.
- Prior experience incorporating GESI into program design and implementation.
- Experience designing and delivering capacity-building activities.
- Practical experience with USAID GESI policies, tools, and approaches is required.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Bangla is required.
