About the role

Summary

You will work in close collaboration with various teams within Lightsouce bp to (1) support day to day geospatial needs, (2) carry out analysis for permitting, development and construction of solar projects in APAC and EMEA regions and (3) identify local and regional datasets to inform business decisions.  You will work as part of the wider EMEA/APAC GIS team with a specific focus on supporting project development in South Korea, as well as wider support for the APAC region.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Utilise GIS to support greenfield site development in South Korea and the wider APAC region, creation of constraints information to support solar facility design, managing land ownership information, prepare map exhibits and conduct risk assessments
  • Develop maintain geospatial data libraries within the Enterprise GIS
  • Assisting non-professional GIS users across APAC region
  • Management of project level data
  • Supporting the development of geospatial solutions/applications

Knowledge / Experience

  • GIS fundamental knowledge including GIS data management, coordinate reference systems and transformations, geospatial analysis and cartographic design.
  • Experience working with various Geospatial data formats (shapefile, geodatabase, tabular, CAD, KMZ)
  • Experience carrying out geospatial data management within an Enterprise GIS environment
  • Experience with data exchange between systems, including CAD/GIS environments
  • Experience working with survey grade data
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze geographical information to be presented in reports or presentation
  • Experience preparing maps, and knowledge of cartography and graphic design
  • Experience creating basic models, workflows and tools related to geospatial analysis and data management
  • A minimum of 2 year prior experience using ArcGIS software in a professional environment
  • Coordinate with technical teams to review and edit scope of works and ensure GIS deliverables meet analysis needs
  • Experience in the use of ArcGIS Pro, ArcSDE, Portal for ArcGIS, Python

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders in a high paced environment
  • Must be detailed oriented and have strong data organization and analytical skills
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, with a commitment to keeping projects on time
  • Must be proactive in seeking to improve data insights, automate and simplify workflows and processes
  • Fluent in English

Education and Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree in GIS, Geography or related fields. Certifications in GIS and work experience will be considered in lieu of higher degree.
