Contexte:
Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh), with headquarters in Lausanne and an office in Zurich, is the leading Swiss organization for child rights. In 2022, we supported 2.6 million children and members of their communities around the world. We trained people who in turn supported a further 4.5 million children and members of their communities.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the head of logistics and in functional liaison with the MENA Portfolio team of which he/she is a member off, the collaborator is responsible to ensure logistics standard are in place.
He/she is in charge of the monitoring, adapting, and controlling logistics procedures and good practices on all delegations under his/her supervision. The logistics specialist provides technical support in logistics, informs his/her superiors and collaborators of any malfunction, and proposes solutions to be implemented. The support to the Delegations involves: frequent field visits, logistics evaluation/audit of the delegations, technical assistance to the field’s teams (finance, HR, operation, program), organize and provide training in its field of expertise. The logistics specialist participates in the design of the project proposal. In collaboration with the country logistics focal points in the delegations, he/she follows-up of the implementation of logistics activities of the delegations. He/she participates in MENA portfolio coordination meetings and ensures a regular link with the head of logistics. Under the supervision of the head of logistics, he/she participates in the development and implementation of institutional and inter-departmental projects.

Profile:
Education:
- Diploma in Logistics and/or applied humanitarian work
Experience & Competencies:
- Several years of field experience in NGOs, particularly in logistics and in coordination positions. Additional experience at the headquarters of an NGO would be an advantage
- Knowledge of donor guidelines and regulations (ECHO, OFDA, BPRM, DFID…)
- Mastery of logistics aspects in humanitarian emergencies and development
- Knowledge of child protection
- Ownership of inter-agency coordination mechanisms in the area of emergency child protection
Languages:
- English and Arabic written and spoken fluently,
IT:
- Good Knowledge of the Office pack (Word, Excel), Internet messaging, Sharepoint
Conditions:
This position involves travel in delegations and in the field, abroad, up to 30% of the working time.
Salary:
Local Jordanian contract, details will be provided after the first selection (salary, insurance, annual leaves…)
