Role Overview
Manager, People Business Partner – East Arabia
The jobholder will lead and execute People & Capability initiatives, processes and projects covering broad HR generalist responsibilities including; employee relations, reward advice, executing talent management and performance management initiatives and supporting with employee engagement initiatives in UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Pakistan. The jobholder will be expected to partner with the business to help drive culture change and employee performance and ensure all people related activities are managed in line with employee policies, guidelines and processes in place for the geography or broader company.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Oversight and compliance of the local labor market and regulatory environment of countries based in East Arabia (UAE, Qatar and Pakistan). The jobholder will – work closely with the new legal entities team for the set up of new entities in East Arabia.
- Responsible for the management and delivery of core People and Capability programs, including talent and performance management, learning, year-end compensation planning, and workforce planning within a business line or geography
- Acts as a primary point of contact with COEs and the GBSC on program delivery issues and customizations for the business they support
- Coaches managers and employees on development, employee relations and reward issues
- Conducts development plan audits and ensures appropriate plans are in place
- Provides support across the division and business units in the locations they manage
- Identifies opportunities to roll-out wellness and career development initiatives in their locations
- Shares local intelligence and provides a “field perspective” to Total Rewards and the effectiveness of programs and initiatives to the COEs.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- Current or previous HR experience either as a generalist or specialist, with experience in coaching people leaders and employees across a broad range of people topics
- Strong business acumen coupled with efficient project management, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Previous experience of working in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders within HR as well as within the internal client groups is preferred. Experience of working for a multinational organization is essential.
- Highly motivated and a self-starter with the ability to drive local HR agenda, manage own workloads, whilst working collaboratively with others within and out of the immediate region.
- Well-developed communication and influencing skills, ability to be empathetic but also take tough, commercially focused, decisions.
- Knowledge and experience of local employment laws and practices.
- Strong team player – can partner effectively across HR
- High proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Meticulous nature with a strong eye for detail.
