World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists

CONTEXT

This role will ensure that the WFSA’s 134 member societies receive the highest quality of service and support, regardless of where in the world they are based and the size of their individual memberships. This is a critical role for us in the run-up to the World Congress of Anaesthesiologists being held in Singapore in March 2024 which will involve all our member societies.

The role reports to the CEO and will liaise regularly with the rest of the staff team on all membership matters, as well as with the Partnerships Manager in relation to fundraising. Relationships with member societies’ leaderships and staff, and the WFSA Board, Council, and Committees are also crucial, as is an ability to interact across a wide range of stakeholders.

This role is responsible for developing and implementing a new membership engagement strategy for the WFSA. • Maintain the Register of Member Societies (membership database, including whether member societies are in good standing). Ensure member society details are kept updated on the WFSA website.

Mentorships:

This is a new initiative and specific tasks will continue to evolve as the programme develops. However, the work will likely include:

  • Promoting applications with member societies and relevant partners to ensure a healthy pool of applicants;
  • As the Programme expands, work with the Head of Programmes and Partnerships Manager to include Mentorship in larger proposals in order to secure funding for the Programme.
