The Program Officer will provide support as assigned to the Transform, Ukraine Rapid Response, United Voices in Action, and Veteran Reintegration programs. They are an integral part of a team who provides strategic and administrative support to the management of Communities & Governance (C&G) programs. The PO will be supporting technical, financial, compliance, operational, and administrative aspects of program implementation. This includes monitoring program performance, contributing to technical deliverables and reporting, leading administrative and operational support, and being an integral part of fiscal compliance. The PO will support the development of project work products, to include but not limited to, program timelines, workplans, budgets, reports, overseeing planning and day-to-day operations, and supporting field-based staff. The PO will build strong collaboration and communication across teams to accomplish these goals.

Your Background & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience conducting research, analyzing, and presenting findings.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Strong communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity and commitment to inclusivity.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, including team members in multiple time zones.
  • Proven experience managing multiple administrative tasks in a demanding, time sensitive work environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational, time management, and work planning skills.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Excellent ability to remain flexible while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Speaking, reading, and writing proficiency in English required.
  • Knowledge of another language, such as Ukrainian, Russian, French, Arabic, Spanish, etc. is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using digital platforms for collaboration and communication.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft office products, especially Excel.
  • You must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Your Daily Tasks

  • Manage and monitor work plan to support delivery of high quality and timely program deliverables.
  • Lead consultant recruitment and hiring process, including tasks related to scope of work, outreach, consulting contracts, payments, and other administrative and technical tasks
  • Supports program start-up and close-out activities.
  • Coordinate program publicity and outreach, including producing regular news and program updates; and promoting program successes to a variety of audiences.
  • Monitor subgrants with international, regional, and local partners.
  • Provide business development support, as assigned.
  • Ensure all fiscal and performance activities comply with IREX policies and procedures and funder regulations.
  • Manage project budgets, including analyzing projections versus actuals, forecasting, and recasting, both for IREX and subgrantees.
  • Monitor subgrants with international, regional, and local partners.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and coaching to other staff, as needed.
  • Other support duties as needed.
