The Facilitator will support to deliver a total of 16 sessions of psychosocial support focused on to improve their mental well-being of 35 young male and female from age 18 to 23, expose them to practical knowledge, enable them to become constructive members of society, as well as prevent them from future juvenile delinquency and increase their chances of sustaining a healthy living through “the Journey of Change” Project in Jordan, sessions should be implemented with high quality, accuracy, timeliness, and security, according to War Child rules and regulations and donor requirements.
Position Duties
- Conduct engaging and interactive WIN- WIN PSS Intervention sessions following established guidelines and curriculum.
- Regularly evaluate participants’ needs and progress, adjusting session content as necessary in prior approval from the Project management team.
- Create a safe and supportive environment for participants, ensuring confidentiality and respect for their privacy.
- Deliver accurate and relevant information related to the WIN-WIN PSS Intervention.
- Facilitate WIN-WIN PSS intervention sessions, activities, and exercises.
- Manage the youth groups’ dynamics effectively, ensuring active participation, respectful communication, and inclusion of diverse perspectives.
- Attending the intensive training conducted by the WIN -WIN PSS Trainer to build capacity and skills.
- Communicating with the participants and conduct the sessions as per the schedules developed by the project team.
- Ensuring the readiness of the venue before holding sessions, including arrangement and organization.
- Writing session reports and providing thorough feedback.
- Coordinating and preparing necessary materials and hospitality requirements for the sessions.
- Monitoring and documenting the attendance of participants as required.
- Monitoring feedback and opinions related to the program and sharing them with project team.
- Conducting interviews and Focus group discussion for further feedback
- Meeting with the Project manager and the project officer to discuss session progress and/or challenges.
- Undertaking any other assigned tasks.
Capacity building:
- Attend win- win PSS Facilitators training days.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Data entry of conducted sessions.
- Pre and post.
- Interviews and FGDs.
Compliance:
- Ensures compliance with the rules and regulations of War Child in all areas including data management and record keeping.
- Complies with financial, safety, CSG and child protection policies and procedures of War Child, managed by the Project Manager.
- Ensures that receipts and supporting documents are provided to the Finance Officer/Project officer in Amman, in accordance with the requirements of War Child.
Knowledge & Experience
- Experience
- At least 1 year of experience working as a Facilitator in INGOs.
- At least 1 year of experience in the sectors of PSS and/or MHPSS.
- Has a university/college Degree in mental health, social studies, counselling.
- Fluent in Arabic- written and spoken
- Familiarity with War Child policies and procedures including data security, child protection, child safeguarding.
- Previous experience working with Juveniles will be a plus
- Competencies
- Ability to work effectively with young orphaned males and females who have endured challenging living environments, including some who were juveniles
- Expertise in managing and communicating with challenging youth populations
- Ability to build rapport and trust with difficult youth groups
- Proven track record of success in de-escalating conflict and resolving challenging situations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen actively, build consensus, and provide effective feedback
- Ability to create and maintain a safe and supportive environment for all youtSound knowledge of participatory approaches
