Know our team

Nutrition International’s Program Operations Unit is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of Nutrition International’s core program interventions including program development, design, planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting, and grant management, including setting annual operational planning, budgeting, and review processes. The unit comprises a global team of professionals located in our 10 core countries across Asia, Africa and our headquarters in Ottawa, Canada. Nutrition International is seeking applications for Senior Project Officer Vitamin A in Chad.

About you

You are someone with a masters degree from a recognized university in management, international development, public health, nutrition or other related area. You have at least five years experience in management of programs in public health or a related field essential including managing finances and human resources. At least two to three year’s experience in networking with international partners and country government and a minimum of five year’s experience working in Chad. Previous experience as a project officer or equivalent role in scope for an international NGO working in vitamin A or other child survival projects and experience of multi-sectoral programs is desirable for the position.

About the role

In this role you will be supporting the planning, budgeting, and implementation of VAS programming under the direction of Technical Director in HQ and the Deputy Regional Director for Africa, refine project design and support the country in landscape, Planning ,Budgeting and targets, Covid- 19 adaptations and Training. Monitoring procurement of Vitamin A and other nutrition-related commodities/supplies. Provide guidance and technical support to the Ministry of Health and other strategic planning and programmatic outputs.

Establishing NI’s role by consulting with key stakeholders to better define scope of work and general arrangements for steering and oversight of planned programming activities while ensuring Government of Chad engagement. Provide guidance and technical support to the Ministry of Health to improve their capacity to deliver quality campaigns. Support visibility of Nutrition International’s support to national and sub-national authorities. Under the direction of Technical Director in HQ and the Deputy Regional Director for Africa, support the Vitamin A Project Director, Chad, to plan and manage VAS programming in Chad. Ensure program and research activities achieve agreed results, are of expected quality within agreed timelines,
