IMPACT civil society research and development

1. BACKGROUND:

IMPACT – Civil Society Research and Development e.V. , founded in Berlin in 2013, is a non-profit civil society organization with offices in Iraq, Turkey and Syria. Civil society support is the core of IMPACT’s mission through long-term and balanced support to individuals and organizations in the conflict and developed countries. IMPACT main areas of intervention is capacity building, research, peace building and diaspora engagement.

2. PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The overall objective of the training is to build the capacity of staff of IMPACT’s partners in the concept of social protection. The primary purpose of the training is to impart practical knowledge and skills on inclusive approaches and mechanisms for social protection through peer support that contribute to supporting partner organizations to enhance inclusive and safe space for their staff and beneficiaries and an environment for the CSOs to support each other for resilience and sustainability.

The training will cover topics related to social protection including but not limited to:

  • Social Protection Fundamentals
  • Different functions of social protection
  • Adaptive Social Protection
  • Multisectoral Coordination and Humanitarian Linkages
  • Design and Implementation of Social Protection
  • Social Protection Reforms

3. SCOPE OF WORK

The assignment is to impart a 3-day training workshop on inclusive approaches and mechanisms for social protection, the training is planned to be implemented from 26 to 28 February 2023.

3.1. The training is aimed to achieve following objectives:

  • To enable CSOs to clearly and accurately understand key concepts of social protection including defining key vocabulary.
  • To enable CSOs to inclusively build an effective and comprehensive social protection system on the community level
  • To enable the CSOs to practically identify the right and suitable strategies and mechanisms for social protection in their context.
  • To enable the CSOs to develop plans for social protection related interventions

3.2. METHODOLOGY:

3.2.1. Deliver using a blended learning approach and might comprises of presentations, interactive sessions of practical exercise and group works.

3.2.2. Practical sessions using individual or group exercises will be given to participants after each session to make sure that they can apply what they have learnt into practice immediately.

3.2.3. Participatory training methods such as brainstorming, simulation, group discussion and case analysis.

3.3. KEY DELIVERABLES:

3.3.1. Following deliverables are expected from the training provider:

  • Trainer will prepare agenda/contents/sessions of the training and submit these at least one week before the start of the training.
  • Trainer shall conduct pre-test from all participants of the training.
  • Trainer will also share a complete package of training material that may be provided to the participants.
  • Trainer will facilitate preparation of training follow up and action plan
  • The trainer will share a comprehensive training report on the agreed format within 10 days after the completion of the training.

3.4. LOCATION:

3.4.1. The training will be online over ZOOM platform .

3.5. TIMEFRAME:

3.5.1. This is a short-term assignment for individual consultants for a period of 3 days between 15 February 2023 and 15 March 2023

3.6. DUITES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

3.6.1. The trainer/consultant/resource person will:

  • Sign with IMPACT a consultancy agreement and work as a resource person for the 3 days training workshop.
  • Discuss and agree with IMPACT on the final training package, content and deliverables.
  • Design an appropriate process of the training leading to the desired results.
    Propose on the most appropriate training methodology for effective delivery of the assignment.
  • Device the tools required for each session of the training.
  • Satisfactorily facilitate the training sessions and ensure active engagement of all the participants.
  • Share relevant training materials and provide any resource materials for further reading and reference by trained staff.
  • Design a questionnaire for pre and post-test (to be used before and after the workshop) for workshops to gauge the level of understanding of the participants about the topics discussed in the training workshop. Compile and submit quality training report (one soft copy)

3.7. SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

3.7.1. The resource person/consultant should possess following qualifications and expertise:

  • An advanced degree in the Social Sciences is preferable. Post graduate qualification in social research or related areas is a clear advantage.
  • Strong experience in working in programs related to social protection (Experience in the Syrian context is encouraged)
  • Traceable previous training work, knowledge, experience and passion for social research work are a must.
  • Excellent report writing and tool development skills are requirements for the development of the tools and policy.
  • Strong communication, analytical and drafting skills
  • Fluency in Arabic and English is mandatory.

– TECHINCAL PROPOSAL:

4.1.1. The technical proposal should include but not limited to the following information:

  • A brief outline of recent experience and client references in carrying out assignments of similar nature (Max. 1 pages)
  • Detailed description of how the consultant/firms understands and will respond to the ToR including time frame.
  • Curriculum Vitae of trainer

– FINANCIAL PROPOSAL:

5.1.1. The financial proposal must contain overall quotation in Euro for all the services to be provided and must follows the following:

  • Summary of the total costs for the services proposed
  • Any taxes applicable
  • PROPOSED PAYMENT SCHEDULE:

6.1.1. 100% of the payment will be released to the trainer after completing the training.
