AGENCY SUMMARY:

The agency is an Alameda County leader providing a safety net of services to help individuals and families rebuild safe and stable lives free from homelessness and family violence. We operate three emergency shelters; a full spectrum of domestic violence outreach services; supportive housing sites; and permanent and rapid re-housing programs. POSITION SUMMARY: (This position is fully onsite).
Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for various tasks related to talent acquisition and recruitment. Their responsibilities include determining current staffing needs, developing talent acquisition strategies, leading employment branding initiatives, sourcing candidates for open positions, conducting recruitment processes, ensuring positive candidate experiences, and assisting in employee retention and development[TL1] .
KEY SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Developing, facilitating, and implementing all phases of the recruitment process
- Collaborating with the HR Director and department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
- Identifying and implementing efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of Building Futures.
- Coordinates job posting and advertisement processes.
- Screens applications, selects qualified candidates, and schedules interviews.
- Oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
- May assist with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
- Coordinate and facilitate the new hire onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for all newly hired employees.
- Communicate with new hires to provide necessary information regarding onboarding procedures, required documentation, and company policies.
- Collaborate with hiring managers and various departments to schedule and organize orientation sessions, training programs, and introductions to team members.
- Assists in the completion of onboarding paperwork and benefit enrollment.
- Serve as the point of contact for new hires to address questions or concerns during the onboarding process.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
- Attends and participates in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
- At least 3- 5 years [JBB2] managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process highly preferred.
- Prior recruiting or human resources experience in the human services, social work, psychology or related field a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
- SHRMs Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to perform word processing, data entry, and other tasks on a computer workstation.
- Reliable transportation along with a valid and current CA Driver’s License and insurance is required. [JBB3]
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

- Sufficient manual dexterity to enable the employee to operate a personal computer, phone, and related equipment.

[TL1]Do you want this role to assist with onboarding candidates once they are given the role? Adding this as a job responsibility might not be a bad idea since this person can help your management team onboard candidates to the organization in a standard process and their managers can then give them a role specific onboarding.
