We anticipate the consultancy will take approximately 28 days over the period of five months from April 2023 to mid-August 2023.
Project Description/Background
Save the Children US is seeking a consultant for five months, between April to mid-August 2023. This role will provide partial coverage for maternity leave and will: 1. Co-lead technical assistance to and coordination of the IAWG ASRHR Sub-Working Group (SWG); and 2. Co-lead the development of the supplemental guide to the ASRH Toolkit for Humanitarian Settings for youth-led organizations. This role will be to provide coverage as the IAWG ASRHR SWG co-lead. This SWG is supported by two co-leads and two young person co-chairs.
Details of the services to be covered by the consultant include:
Co-lead technical assistance to and coordination of the IAWG ASRHR SWG (25%)
a.Co-lead monthly IAWG ASRHR SWG calls from April – August 2023
- Participating/leading preparation calls with other co-lead and co-chairs of the SWG
- Co-facilitating monthly calls
- Preparing invitations, recording, archiving notes, and recording link
- Drafting communication to SWG listserv (SWG call minutes, young person co-chair recruitment, sharing resources, etc.)
- Updating IAWG ASRHR SWG Google Drive
- Support follow-up from monthly calls in coordination with IAWG ASRHR SWG Co-lead (e.g. supporting recruitment and onboarding of young person co-chairs)
b.Ensure regular communication with RH in Emergencies Advisor (Maria Tsolka) and IAWG ASRHR SWG Co-Lead (Alissa Ferry), for decision-making and to monitor the work plan and deliverables of this consultancy
Co-lead the development of the supplemental guide to the ASRH Toolkit for Humanitarian Settings for youth-led organizations (75%)
a. Organize monthly co-development team calls
- Send a reminder email one day prior to calls
- Share out recording link and update Google Documents with notes from each call
b. Organize bi-weekly/weekly calls for sub-committees

d. Coordinate inputs from all teams into one cohesive document
e.Solicit input from the co-development team regarding the design and layout of the supplemental guide
f. Communicate design and layout of guide to the Graphic Design team, in coordination with RH in Emergencies Advisor
g. Share draft zero with IAWG ASRHR SWG and other distribution lists, in coordination with IAWG ASRHR SWG Co-Lead
h. Collect and incorporate feedback in coordination with the co-development team
I. Complete initial editing and formatting of the English version of the supplemental guide
j. Complete citations and a resource list of the English version of the supplemental guide
k. Collect and generate a list of design and layout changes from the co-development team and SWG members to share with the Graphic Design team

Requirements
- MPH degree in a relevant subject is required.
- At least 5-7 years of humanitarian settings experience with a specific focus on Emergency Health, Reproductive Health, and ASRH in Emergencies
- At least 5-7 years of experience working in the area of ASRH and working with young people and/or youth-led organizations
- Knowledge of the 2020 ASRH Toolkit for Humanitarian Settings
- Certification in the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) for RH is required.
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills; Other UN language is an asset
- Experience working with young people to co-design and co-facilitate activities and products
- Passion and commitment to meet agreed deadlines
- Ability to produce high-quality work under tight timeframes
