The Role

As the Director of Operations, your contribution to the organization will be to ensure an above and beyond experience for clients at events. You will manage the build and execution of the event process including initial planning, budgeting and inventory, logistics, and client satisfaction. You will manage Event Managers and Event Coordinators within your respective area. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership. Managing direct and indirect reports to create successful events. Coaching and supporting individuals towards professional growth in alignment with company goals.
  • Employee Experience. Nurture a positive employee experience as much as a positive guest experience. Focus on the team dynamic and encouraging collaboration. Advocated for employees, removed obstacles, and ensures they have the tools/resources needed to be effective.
  • Driving Outcomes. Being an outspoken contributor to the company, thinking outside the box and driving change; Living the company values as a front line influencer to ensure we are truly creating once-in-a-lifetime experiences for our clients.
  • Financial Responsibility. Takes ownership of event budgets, holds team accountable for tracking and appropriate spending. Engaged with Partner Management and Accounting to keep records current and ensure new event budgets align with current market.
  • Foster Relationships. Develops meaningful with other departments, vendors, and partners including identifying and implements opportunities for collaboration, growth, and improvement.
  • Guest Journey. Attention to the full guest journey from purchase to event execution. Align the operations with the organization to create a cohesive guest experience.

 

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • 6+ years progressive experience in event planning and management 
  • 3 – 5 years experience leading and developing a team
  • 2 -3 years most recent experience related to hospitality and/or event management industry
  • Proven track record of effective project management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent business experience
  • Strong computer skills, ideally with experience using Excel and Salesforce or other CRM type software
