ABOUT IDD:

Insana Değer Derneği (IDD) is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation providing relief and development assistance in Turkey. IDD is committed to the best practice and quality of work of its staff, its partner organisations and other associates. IDD programs focus mainly on livelihood, food security, rural rehabilitation and emergency education. Operations are managed from Turkey where IDD’s main office is established serving as administrative and logistics support of program being implemented directly or through partners.

General View of the Position:

The recent disasters in parts Turkey have brought about displacement and discomfort in the life of dwellers in those areas. This has resulted in the need to help meet certain basic and urgent needs of the affected people. A distribution activity has therefore been set up in order to deliver aid to those in need or affected by the earthquake within the scope of the project.

The Project Officer will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that Project activities and outputs are implemented with the required quality and delivered in a timely, in accordance with the implementation plan, and ensuring to project objectives are met. This includes working with the project field team to conduct field assessments, market price assessments, engage with local communities, verify the needs and prepare required field reports.

Principal Job duties (responsibilities AND TASKS):

  1. People Management
  • Supervising and providing technical support to field team in ensuring provision of quality life-saving assistance.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, tools, handbooks, guidelines, and donor requirements are maintained in program operation
  • Organize regular project coordination meetings with project field team.
  1. Project management and development
  • Support project team to conduct community mobilization, sensitization, and selection/verification of project beneficiaries based on pre-set criteria.
  • Work closely with the communities to ensure effective coordination and ensure the most vulnerable people are selected.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager, assistants, and MEAL staff to design community mobilization strategy, and project implementation plans.
  • Regular field visits and provision of supervision and support.
  • Responsible for compilation of information on project implementation and reporting to project manager on regular basis.
  • Ensure alignment of project activities to project design and is consistent across project locations.
  • Ensure readiness of all preparations for distribution
  • Prepare and produce periodical project progress reports as required by the management.
  • Ensure proper filing of documents.
  • Ensure that project target beneficiaries are most in need, and services are properly delivered.
  • Promote and share ideas for technical improvement.
  • Develop project implementation work plans and ensure the effective & efficient implementation of project activities as per the pre-designed work plans.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the project manager.

Principal competinces required:

  1. Technical competencies:
  • Bachelor Degree (desirable)
  • +2 years of professional experience
  • Experience in NGO
  • Communications skills in Turkish and English,
  • Proficient in MS office required. Knowledge of other application such as Kobo (desirable)
  • Applicants should be (Turkish Citizenship Only)
  • Manual Driving License (B) and active ability to drive
